Hi! I’m Cindy, and from the time I was a teenager, I knew that I wanted to work in a profession that would allow me to help people improve their lives. After college, I began my career working in development and fundraising, working first for the YWCA and then for a medical school. I also spent time in higher education as a career counselor/student advisor. Over the years, in my spare time, I volunteered for various organizations, including at a children’s hospital, in a cardiac intensive care unit, and as an English as a Second Language tutor. Finally, during my mid-thirties, I decided to pursue my true calling by becoming a therapist, so I began working on my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology.
I have been in the mental health field for 19 years and have worked with people with a wide range of issues and challenges, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, life transitions, health issues, and chronic pain. In my work, I use various approaches, including EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and others. Since each person is unique, I will tailor my approach to meet your specific needs.
My most important goal as I work with you will be to create a safe, warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental space for you to work toward positive change. I genuinely love the work that I do, and I would welcome the opportunity to accompany you on your healing journey.
I was born and raised in New Hampshire and spent over 20 years in the Boston area. Having grown tired of New England winters, I moved to North Carolina in 2014. I enjoy the milder climate, and I especially love the warmth, friendliness, and openness of the people. Activities I enjoy include reading, the arts, and exploring other countries and cultures through travel. Animals have always held a very special place in my heart, and I have volunteered for greyhound rescue organizations as well as adopted a number of fur babies over the years, including two greyhounds and a Calico cat.
Please feel free to contact me for your free 20-minute phone call. I look forward to speaking with you!
